NOTICE OF ELECTIONS STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA COUNTY OF YORK Notice is hereby given that the Non-Partisan Special Municipal Election for the Town of Sharon will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 as fixed by law. The office of Council Member shall be elected to serve the remaining term of two years to commence not earlier than (48) forty-eight hours after the polls close. Citizens desiring to be a candidate for the above office must file by petition with the office of the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of York County, E. C. Black Building, 13 S. Congress St., York, S. C. not later than (60) sixty days prior to the date of the election. Petitions must be submitted not later than 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 11, 2019. The petition must contain not less than (5%) five percent of the registered voters residing within the Town of Sharon. Citizens choosing to file for candidacy must be a resident of the Town of Sharon. Any person wishing to vote in this election must register no later than Sunday, February 10, 2019. Voter Registration by mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, February 11, 2019. At 9:00 a.m. on March 12, the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of York County will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at 13 S. Congress St., E. C. At 10:00 a.m. on March 14, the York County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this election. This hearing will be held at 13 S.
